This is the first idiom I illustrated - "You Crack Me Up".

I added a mask to the skin and another mask to all the other parts of the bodies--clothes, hair, etc. The masks are visually different, but taken from the same picture. The mask on the skin is more prominent.

The second idiom - "Rain Check"

I put the check into the puddle, then transformed it to make it look like it's laying down. I then added a mask to make the rain puddle look like it's over the check. I also used the smudge tool to bend the lines and writing on the check to make it look like it's affected by the ripples in the water, and then smudged the background of the puddle to make the ripples more prominent in the check.
