Blog 3- New York Minute

To convey the phrase "New York minute" I found the picture of the 60 second stopwatch and hand and used a clipping mask to reveal the image of New York City below. I then played with the tint of the city image to lighten it as if it were behind glass. Then I used the select tool and paintbrush to add the reflections on the watch surface. Finally, I selected the image and set it against a background of an urban city street.

Kimberlie_B Blog Three: Air Heads

For this metaphor project I decided to use the term 'air head'.  I found pictures of vintage paper dolls, an old Polaroid of a balloon, a beach scene, and a paisley print.  I made the heads shine through the balloons using pixel masks and altering the density and opaqueness of the balloons.  I used the same method with the beach scene in order to have the illusion of a light paisley stamp.  Lastly I adjusted all of the layers by bringing the hue and saturation levels down to create an antique photo feeling.

Very cool it may not look like it yet but I am starting to understand the use of the computer.
